2010 Summary, 689 students completed the survey (n=689) which represented a 20% response rate

  • About two-thirds of GW undergraduates (68%) were working for pay, interning, or volunteering their time during the spring semester; and 20% are doing more than one activity.
  • More freshmen (39%) compared to seniors (23%) were not engaged in any of these out-of-class experiences, and more seniors (38%) were working for pay as their sole activity compared to the others.
  • About one-third (32%) of the students did not participate in any paid work, unpaid internship, or volunteer experience.
